Greenbank area news Beautiful Church service If you were not present at church last Sunday you missed a beautiful service. All those who took are to be congratulated. The Junior and Senior Choirs and the soloists deserve a special thank you. There was a very good atten and it would be dif- ficult to name all the visitors but I think Mr. and Mrs. Ted Cordner from Bobcaygeon travelled the greatest distance. Service at the - usual hour next Sunday. ~The evening unit of the U.C.W. will meet April 5 at 7:30 p.m. in the church. The program is on skin care and Aloette. We are glad to report that Fred Phoenix is home after a stay in Uxbridge Cottage Hospital. Fred had an encounter with one of his beef cows -- the animal possibly took Fred for a stranger as he had been on holidays. High growth boards form new coalition Representatives of the eight largest growth school boards in Southern Ontario met March 20 to discuss the crisis each is facing in "trying to provide new schools in the midst of rapid growth and declining provincial funding. =i1,The Growth Boards Coalition is made up of the Roman Catholic Separate School Boards and the Public Boards in the regions of - Peel, Halton, York and Durham; - They have 400,000 students, 90,000 of whom are in "temporary" accommodation. On behalf of the eight boards, The Peel Board of Education and The Dufferin-Peel Roman Catholic Separate School Board will request an emergency meeting with Premier David Peterson. It is hoped that the meeting with the Premier would also in- _ clude the Ministers of Housing, Municipal Affairs, Education, Government Services and the Treasurer who are involved in an inter-ministerial committee to draft the legislation dealing with lot levies. Carolyn Parrish, Chairman of The Peel Board of Education, said, "The fact that the eight largest school boards in Southern Ontario met recently is a dramatic message to the Pro- vince.
