Draws were won by Betty. Barnett, Pat Porrill; James Emerton and Bernice Wells. If you enjoy playing euchre you should try to attend these weekly events where much fun and fellowship is enjoyed. On a very cold Wednesday afternoon, January 4 the Blackstock W.I. members with 2 . visitors met .at the Blackstock Town Hall. After dessert and a . social time the meeting opened by the singing of the Ode and repeating the Mary Stewart Collect. The minutes of the last meeting were read and the treasurer's report was given. Thank you notes were read: Dora Martyn gave a report on Agriculture Awareness Day which we will hear more about later. The Roll Call was answered by naming a small local ipdustry. Naturally this is a source of great stress for some students, particularly our grade nines who are relatively inexperienced at the trials -and tribulations of writing these monstrosities. Despite the tensions of the month, however, student ac- tivities are back in full swing after Christmas holidays. Last Friday a sock hop was held at lunch, the last dance scheduled until after exams. Our boys backetball teams played several games last week. We were challenged by Brock on Tuesday. Although our senior team play a strong game, they were defeated by two points. Our junior team lost as well, but we managed to show Brock our school spirit with our winning Midget team. The At-Home Committee is very busy this week with three meetings scheduled on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.
