Blackstock & District (Cartwright) Lions Club The Blackstock & District Lions Club is now finished with the An- nual Canvass for the C.N.I.B. and a cheque for $2,505 was presented to the Administrator for the .Durham Region. A great suc- cess...and besides working hard for the cause, the generosity of the people of Cartwright at Christmas time...was just ter- rific! The Blackstock & District Lions Club welcomes a: new member, Mike Baker, who lives and works in Blackstock.: The Lions Club members wish everyone within the community a Happy Holiday Season...and a sincere thank you to all...for the support given to the Club this year. It was truly appreciated! Caesarea Community Church The friendly Caesarea Church welcomed a good company of "worshippers on Sunday morning at 11 a.m. for the Christmas Ser- vice. Rev. Dr. W.H. Crawford . conducted the service...and bas-; ed his thoughts on "Born Anew" using Scripture from Luke, read by Klass Stek. The second portion was read by Frank Arney. The minister Rev. Crawford led the Responsive reading. Carols were sung intermittently throughout the service which added to the festive occasion, with Anne Maschke presiding at the Organ. A warm welcome awaits you to share in this fine Service! - Nestleton United Church Christmas Sunday, Dec. 25, at 11:15 a.m. saw: a splendid con- gregation for Nestleton United Church, special Service, with Neta Fish extending the warm. welcome at the door. Art Weir was the Usher. Rev. Dale Davis conducted the service and presented an excellent message re: Christmas! from Isaiah & Luke. The choir sang, "Ring The Bells"'...and Heather Malcolm sang a solo, 'Gentle Donkey" with her mother Arlene playing the introduction. During the offer- tory, Leslie MacKenzie sang, "When A Child Is Born' accom- panied by her mother, Janice on _the piano. All through the ser- vice...Carols were sung closing with "O Little Town of. Cliff & Chris Davis, Scott & Carle, "hosted'" the Christmas celebration for mother Christina Henderson of Scotland, who is presently visiting relatives and friends' in Canada, Cliff's son, Christopher & Anna Davis of Toronto. For a nice change, the menfolk went skiing at the Devil's Elbow, Bethany. A great party! On Sunday, Ralph & Leona Sadler, Richard & Janice MacKenzie, Claire & Les, Nestleton had Christmas dinner with Ian & Gloria Scott, Charles & Jennifer of Corbyville. All en- joyed the festivities very much! On Monday, Richard & Janice and girls, were in Toronto, visiting relatives! David & Regenia Walker, Avril & Kyle, of Scugog Point, had a lovely Christmas celebration with her parents, Bert & Eugenia Hill, and son Martin, Whitby. A nice PORT PERRY STAR -- Wednesday, January 4; 1989 -- 17 Lions Club writes out a big cheque to CNIB 'festive occasion! Edgar & Anne Emerson, Nestleton, 'hosted' a family get- to-gether for the Christmas Holidays, at their lovely old farm home at Nestleton! On Saturday, Walter & Irma Welts, Nestleton, had a Yuletide celebration at son Raynor & Kathy Welts, Nicole & Matthew's home...and on Sunday, they all celebrated with daughter Bar- bara & Ron'Pereman & Lisa at their home, Port Perry. A fine oc- casion for all the family! Mrs. Neta Fish, Blackstock, en- joyed Christmas with son Calvin Holland & wife Yvonne, and children Chad, Craig & Alanna, at their home.
