Monday November 28th was the monthly birthday party honouring those residents with November birthdays. Our: host for the afternoon was the Scugog Island UCW. Many resi- dents enjoyed the cupcakes, gifts and the 10-member band that kept us well entertained. Church service on Tuesday evening was given by the Black- stock United Church. The residents that were able to take part in this activity cer- tainly enjoyed a lovely meal along with great entertainment. Every available minute before our big Christmas bazaar was spent doing necessary prepara- tions. We had one group baking, others doing crafts, some pricing, also a few decorating and some helping set up. Everyone sure worked hard to be ready for the ba- zaar which was a total success. I trust everyone saw the news arti- cle in last week's I. All of the residents would like to express their appreciation to all those who supported them at their Christmas bazaar. Winners of the 'Nursing Home draws were quilt (donated by Roy Walker Smith): Bill Carkner Jr.; clown Colleen Kozak. The lucky winer from the Villa's raffle was Marie Venning. After taking a day's break we had to face the clean-up job on Monday morning (December 5). After getting back to normal we celebrated with a "Success Tea" and had a real good discussion on the bazaar. GORD Tuesday the 6th we had Free- dom Fashions come in to display and sell their clothing. Their clothing is geared towards being suitable for the elderly. Many resi- dents bought for themselves or did some of their Christmas shop- ping. In the evening, the Port Per- ry Presbyterian Church provided an evening of worship. The following day was extreme- ly busy. First thing in the mom- ing we had breakfast with Santa. The delicious scrambled egg breakfast was devoured by all. Throughout the afternoon we had a quiz and played Christmas Triv- ia. Then to end the day a few resi- dents headed off to the Legion for the Rotary Club Christmas din- ner. They all enjoyed the delicious meal and great entertainment. On the 8th, everyone was kept busy making Christmas telegrams which will be sent out at a later date throughout the nursing home. To end the week on Friday (9th) we decorated all of the Christmas trees throughout the building. Everyone really enjoys this task.
