Both teams continued the tight checking in this period but with just over 2 minutes to play Lewis gave the puck away in their own end resulting in Steven Hiemstra tieing the match assisted by Ryan Morton. Then with 6 seconds left in the game Jason Brown spotted a wide open Darren Kinnunen who streaked down the left side and deposited the puck just inside the post for the winning goal.
