Myrtle area news By Sonja Graham Our annual Sunday School Christmas Pageant has come and gone, and once again, turned out to be a most memorable event. The evening's program was filled with Christmas carols and skits, Jorforned by all the chil- dren. A lot of hard work and dedi- cation paid off in a beautifully presented pageant. Many thanks 80 to Marg Stevens, Laura Fitz- simmons, and Bonnie Reynolds, for their time and patience with the children. Also, to the UCW Ladies, a job well done for the organization of the pot luck supper, and decorat- ing the church. A special thank you to Santa Claus for his visit at the end of the evening. Christmas is a time of happi- ness and joy, but for many of us there is a sadness in our hearts. This was our first Christmas without our friend Fred Marconi. Most of us did not know Fred by name but for many years he and his wife brought the Christmas spirit to our little church. A whole generation of children grew up with Fred watching over them. Christmas tree is deco- rated with bright lights as a re- minder of his generous spirit of Christmas. There will always be a Men: Owen Gray, Ed Donnelly, Thomas Manns. Lucky draws Andy Munro, Bessie Spencer. On December 22nd, it will be the special Christmas euchre. Hope to see you there. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Wozney had their four Mansfield dchildren from Bowmanville for the week- end. On Sunday there was a good turnout for the White Gift service and the lighting of the third Ad- vent candle. The junior and senior choirs sang two anthems Jesus is his name and The Stars Shone Bright. Rev. LePage had a very interesting story for everyone "The Gifts of God". Next Sunday the Sunday School will present their Christmas program at 11:30 a.m. All parents and friends are invited. Will the children please be at the church at 10 a.m. A reminder to all UCW mem- bers and any ladies of the church are invited to the home of Myrtle Snelgrove on Wednesday Decem- ber 14th at 6:15 for Christmas Pot-Luck supper at 6:30 (main course only).
