Everyone is welcome. _I would like to make a correc- tion regarding the Christmas con- cert sponsored by the Community Centre. The concert will be held at Burns Church hall on Friday December 16 at 6:30 p.m. (not at the centre in which you were in- formed last week). Don't forget the hayride on Monday December 19. Those wishing to come along are asked to meet at Burns Church parking lot at 6 p.m. Dress warmly, so you can enjoy all the fun and car- ol singing. Children must accom- pany their parents. Enjoy hot chocolate and the viewing of the Canada Day Video afterwards at the Community Centre. The R.C.M.P. Band Concert . will be held on Sunday December 18 at 2 p.m. at Eastdale Colle- giate, Oshawa. Proceeds will ben- efit Durham Region Children's Aid Society. ' There was a hub of activity at the Murcott Christmas Tree Farm on Townline Road last weekend, as many from the surrounding area came to have the fun of cutting their own tree. It surely puts one in the Christ- mas spirit to see car after car drive away with their tree. I even no- Santa and Mrs. Claus to visit famous light display Stan and Beth Grills' Prince Al- bert home is so famous for its dazzling display of Christmas lights, that even jolly St. Nick is im fact, the Port Perry Star has learned Santa and Mrs. Claus will be flying all the way from the North Pole to make a special ap- at the Grills' house Tues- day December 20 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Him and the missus will be standing in the brightly lit front yard, handing out candy canes to all the folks who come to gaze at Stan and Beth's lights display. Last year, Stan and Beth won first prize in the Star's Christmas Lights contest with an incredible assortment of lights, bells, candles--you name it, and Stan has got it in the front yard. This year Stan hasn't entered the contest because he wants to give someone else a chance, but he has added even more lights to his house. Chantal David- chuk and friend Renee Abrey played two Christmas carols on their flutes. Hugh Knight and Ron Ashton read the scripture readings. Rev. McEntyre's sermon title was "To the Lords of This World." His text was taken from Isaiah 45, verses five and six.
