Brad Menzies shovelled in a goal with just two seconds to play in the game to lift the MoJacks into a 5-5 draw with the Lindsay Muskies. The team now has two wins and a tie on home ice in the early Junior C season, and an overall record of three, one and one, good enough for seven points. The MoJacks were fortunate to come away with the point against Lindsay as they sputtered and coughed through much of the e. Trailing 5-4, coach Mel Brown pulled netminder Brad Bricknell in favour of an extra at- tacker with a faceoff deep in the Muskie zone with five seconds to play. - through a maze of players lined up football-style in front of Muskie goalie Matt McGill and Menzies got the credit. John Harman drew assist on the play. : : The MoJacks took an early 2- 0 lead in the first period when John Harman clicked at 10:28 with a quick shot from a sharp an- e. Five minutes later, Greg War- riner pulled the trigger from a scramble in front of the Muskie cage. He beat McGill with a shot along the ice and Len Giacalone and John Hartford drew the as- sists. But the Muskies got right back in the game with a pair of in 24 seconds as Wade Fin- y and Dan Healy did the damage. Bricknell seemed to have the Hea- ly shot blocked, but the puck bounced off his arm into the net. Each team hit twice in the middle frame with Ray Shier scor- ing for the Muskies on a power 'play at 7:20, followed by Harman ih Menzies and Geer also on a wer play. pe The Muskies went ahead 4-3 at 17:30 when Dave Kearns rattled in a rebound as he found himself all alone in front of the MoJack net. Dan Healy with his second of the night gave Lindsay the 54 lead at 8:54 of the third, setting the stage for the last second equa- lizer by Brad Menzies. Both teams looked less than inspired during much of Sunday's game. There were a lot of broken plays and missed passes. The Mo- Jacks had some bad luck around the Lindsay cage, and on numer- ous occasions held on to the puck long enough to allow the defend- ers a chance to block a shot. It was a hard hitting, but clean Folie with the Muskies taking ve minors and the MoJacks nine. Brad Bricknell had his first: start in goal on home ice for Port Perry and faced 37 shots. On Sunday, November 6 they are home again to Lindsay for a 7:30 faceoff and Tuesday, Nov. 8, they get their first look at the new are- an in Bowmanville as they meet the Eagles. The outcome of these five games might very well be an indi- wind up in the standings. efensively, the Molacks have played well, giving up just line. It won't be too 18 goals in five games, tops in the league. But the team is having trouble scoring goals, with almost all the output coming from one ong before other teams start keying on Har- man-Geer-Menzies. The other lines are working hard, but are having all kinds of trouble finishing off chances around the net. Pee Wees nip Mi Port Perry Legionnaires Pee Wee came out 4-3 winners over Millbrook in their home game on Friday, October 28. Millbrook kept this one close, with good goaltending and a few lucky breaks, including 2 disallowed goals. This was a fast moving game, with lots of end to end action. Ten minutes into the game Millbrook scored the first goal of the game, adding another one just one minute later. Port Perry got onto the scoreboard for their first marker with a goal from Sean McEnaney, scoring from a goal mouth scram- ble, assisted by Jason Coutoulakis and Mike Williams. Port scored one minute later when Duane Empringham got a deflection from a defence player to tie the score. Assists on this one went to Jeff Andrews and Dave Bourgeois. The second period was end to end action, again, with the with two seconds to play in the game and salvaged a point on a 5-5 draw. Their home Ice record is un- blemished to date. (see story for the details) After missing a couple of games. Steve Fountain should be back in uniform along the blue line this week. He's capable of as- suming a leadership role on this club. Next home game is Sunday, Nov. 6 when the Muskies are back in town, looking for a little revenge no doubt. Game time is 7:30 PM. Legionnaires scoring twice more. Port Perry's third goal was set up by Jeff Andrews doing some good fore-checking to shake loose the puck, which Dave Pashley was quick to cash in for a goal.
