On October 19 about 6:00 PM, a two vehicle collision at the intersection of Lilla Street and MacDonald sent two Oshawa boys to hospital for treatment of cuts and bruises. Police said Wayne Purdue of Oshawa was northbound on Lilla when his car collided with a half- ton truck driven by Patricia Kuntz of Caesarea. Mr. Purdue's sons in the back seat of the car were shaken up and suffered cuts and bruises. Had they not been wearing seat belts their injuries might have been much more Serious. Another accident on Lilla Street October 22 caused extensive damage to two vehicles, but there were no serious injuries. The acccident took place at the intersection of Beech Street when a northbound GMC van driven by Mark Mayhew of Peterborough collided with a car making a left turn from Beech onto Lilla. Dora Dyer of Lindsay has - been charged by Regional Police with failing to yield. On October 20, near Caesarea, Kathleen Patrick escaped serious injury when the vehicle she was Durham Police kept busy with accidents driving rolled over. Police said the accident oc- curred just after 7:00 AM when a rear right tire came off, sending the vehicle out of control. There were no charges. Saturday evening, police rc- port an accident on Concession 4 near Cadmus. Frank Vehof of Scugog Township was north- bound when two horscs jum into the path of his 1981 Firebird. Police say both horses wcrc injured and the car sustained heavy damage. There were no charges laid. The driver of the car was not hurt. The Rota Rotary will sponsor giant Port Perry Art Fest in May 1989 Art lovers get ready for a really "big show." In announcing the event now, Art Fest chair- man Tony Motuzas told the Star through extensive promotion of the event they hope to attract up to 10,000 people to Port Perry during the weekend. Helping organize the Port Perry Art Fest will be Ed Matthews of Gallery on the Lake in Buck- horn, Ontario. : The Rotary Club has purchased well known wildlife artist Michael Dumas' original painting of two Pandas entitled "China Gold," which will be drawn on May 20, 1989. Tickets for the China Gold draw are $20.00 each and will be available from Rotary members. Michael Dumas will be guest speaker at the Ro- tary Club meeting this Wednesday at Emiel's Place, and interested persons are invited to attend.
