Located at 158 Queen Street (formerly the Port Perry Pet Shop) the Creative Basket offers customers a complete line of gift baskets, custom designed to suit every occasion and budget. The store is owned by Debbie Begg and Jeannette Frost, who started their business about a year ago in Brooklin. Along with the creative gift baskets, the store offers many in- dividual gourmet products such as specialty teas and exotic coffees. Those who recall the Pet Shop with its rows of fish tanks, bird cages and so on, won't recog- nize the store now. It has been completely remodelled with a deep green and ivory decor, complete with Victorian-era furnishings and lighting. Last Saturday morning, Jean- nette and Debbie took part in an official ribbon cutting ceremony with Durham East MPP Sam Cu- reatz and Scugo oF Ward 2 council- lor Howard Hall snipping the rib- bon stretched across the front doors. The Creative Basket is open seven days per week, including Sunday afternoons from 1:00 to 5:00 PM.
