To date, there is a total number of 6,320 enrolled, com- pared to 4,896 at this time last year, an increase of 29 percent. The trend also applies to Ajax where 572 students have been registered, compared to 439 in 1987, an increase of over 30 percent. The increased registration relates to most subject areas, in- cluding general interest courses, credit courses in Applied Arts, Business, Health Sciences and Technology, and Skills Develop- ment Management courses. Students are still registering, and most programs begin the week of September 19. In addition to Durham courses, there are four universities offer- ing extension programs at the College. All report a considerable increase in enrollment. Trent University is offering a total of 33 credit courses at Durham this Fall. Enrollment in their degree programs is up by approximately one-third. York University has added two half-courses this year, concen- trating on programs related to Administrative and Health Studies. All four Universities reported excellent co-operation on the part of Durham College, and are op- timistic about continuing expan- sion of their programs in Oshawa.
