Con- gratulations to Dawn McQuaid and David Ellis one of the happy couples. Later the marriage of Sherry Tysick and Leon Slute was solemnized. Rev. Dale Davis con- ducted both weddings. Sherry and Leon's reception and dance was held afterwards in the Blackstock Rec. Centre. Sherry's grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Forest Miller of Kingston spent a few days with Ross and Marie before the wedding. Her other grandmother Mrs. Blanche Tysick The HOPE CHRISTIAN REFORMED CHURCH at 166 Simcoe Street S., Prince Albert, will hold its annual Vacation Bible School AUGUST Sth to 12th, 1988 Once again, there will be classes for children ages 3 to 11; a special ladies' class; and also a nursery. For the children, the mornings will include songs, a puppet show, a Bible story, a snack, games and a craft. For the ladies, the morning will begin with a coffee and fellowship time, and will continue with singing and Bible study. After another cup of coffee and goodies, the ladies will enjoy a special features each day - either a demonstra- tion or a craft. The mornings will begin at 9:00 and conclude at 11:30 AM. There is no registration fee. Everyone is welcome to attend. Mrs. Jean Mahaffy was a weekend guest last week with Joyce and Bob Fraser, Kent and Erin of Scarborough. Bride-elect Eleanor Gibson has been hosted with two bridal showers recently. Her aunt Leona Tripp hosted a family gathering in Eleanor's honour. On Saturday, Alma Duff hosted a shower when Eleanor's Graham cousins gathered in her honour. At each event many lovely gifts were received and a social time enjoyed. Sharon and George Wilson and boys enjoyed entertaining Sharon's cousin from England, Alan Guest from Stourbridge near Birm- ingham, England, for a few weeks. Sharon hosted a family brithday party for her mother Mary Marsh of London and her uncle Al Gorski of Detroit, Michigan who were both celebrating birthdays. Sharon and Herb Benedict and son Jamie have moved into their new home on Church St. West. Welcome back to Blackstock Sharon. Hope you and your husband and son enjoy our life here. Chuck and Karen Cole celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on Wednesday, August 3. On Sunday, July 31, their family Michael and Lori Beer held a surprise party in their parents' honour when 95 peo- ple gathered at the Cole home for a pig roast. What a party and what a surprise. Congratulations to you Chuck and Karen. David and Kathleen Petrie are entertaining David's sister and her husband Dorothy and Roy Water- worth and their daughter Linda and David's mother Mrs. Susan Petrie of Scotland. Hope you enjoy our warm weather better than we do. Miss Ida Dempsey and Mrs. Lorenza McArthur joined Mrs. Jessie Dysart and Miss Betty McAr- thur to go to Stratford to visit Miss Beatrice Dempsey in a nursing home. The three sisters are not often able to get together. At the Senior Citizens Card party the winners were: 1 Mrs. K. Watts; 2 Stan Wright; 3 Norman Rohrer; 4 Lorna Swain; 5 Richard Manns; 6 Freda Ashton; Low - Harold Burgess. Draws were won by Harold Burgess, Dorothy Edwards, Ruby Cochrane and Rose Barrington.
