On July 20 at Caesarea, Blackstock Country Hardware was victorious over Turners Green Giants. The game was a very close - one with a final score of 22-20. Cliff Pelrine & Michelle Morton both scored two home runs. Two triples were hit by both Jamie Lowe & Christie Corden. Jason MacDonald, Stacey Swain, Michelle Morton & Christie Corden all hit doubles. Blackstock Fairgrounds was the location of a game between Port Perry Kinsmen & Maltheb Farms on July 26. The Kinsmen came out on top with a score of 20-9. Sharon Locke hit a single and doubles were hit by Johnathan McCourt, Brad Vokins and Mike Carlson. Brad Morton hit a triple sending home two runners while Mike Carlson and Dustin Marnoch also hit triples. Jason Logan and Brad Vokins both hit home runs each with two runs batted in. Jason Logan round- ed out his performance with two double plays both from first base. Outstanding catches were made by Port Pee LIL GATORS 10 STANDARD ELECTRIC 4 To extend their winning streak to eleven games, Lil Gators had to come back from being down by 4 runs to beat Standard Electric by the score of 10 to 4. James Gouldburn was the win- ning pitcher for Lil Gators, while Robbie Romano pitched a shutout inning in relief. Lindsay Parry played heads up ball at first base including a double play and Rus- ty Hood was sharp at second. Cory Bricknell pitched four in- nings for Standard Electric, strik- ing out six batters and allowing only one hit. Brad Lemieux hit a triple while Mike Hepburn and Cory connected for doubles. Mike Homestead Furniture Mosquito Girls soccer team tied Ajax 2-2 on Thursday, Aug. 4 in Ajax. Homestead girls only had 9 players and with the temperature in the high 90's showed the Ajax team that they had come to play soccer. Ajax led 2-0 at the half. After a short pep talk the girls came out flying in the second half. Travis Mitchell, Chuck Chapman, Adam Nivian and Brandi Boardman hit singles. An outstanding catch was made by Jamie Wade-Boccaccio. Fabulous pitching was provided by Darren Leach and Chris Bryant with Darren getting the final out. Turners Green Giants were down 9 runs and came back with 5 runs and were close to winning the game un- til Darren Leach took over the pit- ching in the final inning. At the fairgrounds in Blackstock, on July 27, Causeway Esso beat Blackstock Country Hardware with a score of 21-16. Trevor Marnoch hit a dou- ble and two singles and Pam Goble, Jason Malcolm, Scott Malcolm and Jim Chapman hit singles. Jason Malcolm made an outstanding catch when he scooped up a short fly at third. Catcher, Scott Malcolm made an excellent play when the ball was hit just in front of home plate. He threw the ball perfectly to first just in time for an out. Wee HL results Hepburn made a good running catch in centrefield. D.J. TAYLOR 15 IRWIN SMITH 13 D.J. Taylor was able to break the tie in the bottom of the fifth in- ning to win this game. Pitching for D.J. Taylor were Sean Ball and Stephen McFarlane while Louis Whitfield hit a home run, driving in three runs and An- dy French had a couple of good hits. David Holt was the allstar fielder for Irwin Smith, making several good catches in left field. Nathan Brown and Stephen Parish both had a couple of good hits during this game. Ken- ny Mark caught two fly balls on left field. LIL GATORS 12 SEAGRAVE PARK 9 After the first inning, Seagrave was ahead by six runs but Lil Gators fought back to win this close game. Brad Plain was the player of the game for Lil Gators. He hit a triple, knocking in three runners, caught a pop fly that was near the fence in fall territory and tagged out two runners who were trying to steal third. For Seagrave Park, Mike Williams hit a triple, driving in a couple of runs during the first period. Good hit! Excellent defense by both teams made for a low scoring 10-8 ball game.
