John Reid seeks Tory nod in federal Durham riding Orono resident John Reid has announced that he will be seeking the Conservative nomination in the federal riding of Durham for the next election that could come this fall. He made the announcement May 6 at the annual meeting of the Clarke-Newcastle P.C. Asso- ciation. The riding of Durham- Northumberland will be changed to Durham in time for the next federal election, and it will include all of Scugog and Uxbridge, parts of north Oshawa and Whitby, and all of the town of Newcastle, in- cluding Bowmanville. Present M.P. Allan Lawrence has already announced that he will not be seeking re-election. Mr. Reid, an educator and school principal is married with two children.
