Ladies Auxiliary meeting The April meeting of the Port Perry Community Hospital Ladies Auxiliary was held in the hospital on Monday, April 18, with Obituary 17 ladies present. The meeting opened with all repeating the Auxiliary prayer in unison. The President then read Kathleen Eleanor Leask KATHLEEN ELEANOR LEASK A lifetime resident of Green- bank, Kathleen Eleanor Phoenix passed away suddenly at her home on March 28, 1988. She was the daughter of Albert & Nellie Phoenix. She was born on August 25, 1907 in Greenbank and attended Greenbank Public and Uxbridge High Schools before going to Peterborough Normal School. After obtaining her teaching cer- tificate she taught school for a year at Rainy River and then at Blackstock until her marriage. Mrs. Leask was predeceased by her husband Roy H. Leask whom she married on April 4, 1931. She is. survived by two daughters Jean, (Mrs. Keith Sweetman) of Scugog Island, Ruby, (Mrs. Ralph Dusty) of Seagrave, and one son John of Seagrave. Grandchildren Valerie and husband R.G. Mad- ziya of Edmonton, Ken Sweetman and wife Kelly of Blackstock, Jen- nifer and husband Jamie Malcolm of Blackstock, Denise and her husband Dennis Teefy of Sunderland, Ian, Dean and Doug Dusty of Seagrave and seven great-grandchildren. She also leaves a brother, Fred Phoenix of Greenbank. A sister and brother, Marjorie Beaton and Franklin Phoenix, died before her. A loving mother and grand- mother -- she will be greatly missed by her family. A Funeral Service was con- ducted in the chapel of Wagg- McDermott-Panabaker, Port Perry on March 30, 1988. Spring EUROPEAN SOLID HARDWOOD FLOORING interment will be at The Pines Cemetery in Greenbank. Ivan Wray Ivan George Wray passed away suddenly on Wednesday, March 23, 1988. He was in his 62nd year. Ivan Wray beloved son of the late Russell and Blanche (Wallace) Wray. He was born on Scugog Island June 2, 1926. On August 1, 1953, Ivan married Jennie Larsen and they have been residents of Columbus for 25 years. Ivan retired with 30 years service at General Motors. He will be sadly missed by his many friends and family. He was the dear father of Gary of Port Perry, Joanne (Mrs. William Collins) of Blackstock and Barbara (Mrs. Paul Allen) of Ashburn. Grandfather of Jen- nifer, Steven, Carrie and Andrew. Brother of Myrtle Montgomery of Sutton, Everett Wray of Port Perry, Lois Cochrane of Port Perry, Merlin Wray of Bethany, Robert Wray of Oshawa, Burness Bryant of Raglan and Dennis Wray of Blackstock. A Funeral Service was held at the Wagg Funeral Home in Port Perry on Friday, March 25 with interment at Mount Lawn Cemetery, Oshawa. Rev. Gordon Rutherford officiated. The many floral arrangements and donations to the Port Perry Hospital were gratefully appreciated. In the absence of Mary Cannon, Isabel Wilson gave the minutes of the last meeting, which were approved, all other of- ficers reports were given. Since our last meeting 10 girls and 4 boys were born at the hospital. Under new businessf we were reminded of the Rose Tag Day be- ing held on May 6 & 7. Mr. Brown was with us and spoke slightly about the extension to the hospital and told us two baby cribs we volunteered to donate are on order with 2 more later in '88 or early 1989. He also gave us a list of articles required for the hospital, which we could discuss and perhaps make a donation. Ileen Pugh then gave a most in- teresting report from the Spring Conference, this being followed by further discussion re - the Spring Fair, being held at the Lat- cham Centre April 30 from 11:30 until 3:00 p.m. Anyone wishing to donate to any of our tables, please have it in by 11:00 a.m. This would be sincerely appreciated. Also a special lunch of soup, and roast beef on a bun is being served from 12 noon until 1:30. At this time a motion was made by Lucien Ross that we adjourn, and a social half hour followed.
