"We really want to put on a good fireworks this year," he said noting that the Chamber of Com- merce spent some $2600 of its own funds last year. He also said there is a chance the fireworks this July will be moved from the library area to Palmer Park to make use of the gazebo for the entertainment which is part of the Canada Day celebrations. The annual fireworks display cach Canada Day has becomé a very popular (and expensive) event for resideiits of Scugog Township and visitors alike. Bright lights Members of the Port Perry Tennis Club should enjoy night tennis a little more this summer as several new lights will be added to the municipally owned courts on Water Street. Township council agreed to contribute a maximum of $1500 towards four new lights and new windscreens. Tennis Club presi- dent Bob McCrae said the organi- zation of 200 members would pick up the other half of the cost.
