Friends and relatives came from Sussex, New Brunswick, Belleville, Toronto, Oshawa, Lindsay, Uxbridge and Port Perry. Mrs. Walter Kerry also celebrated her birthday with a family dinner last Thursday even- ing. Her brother Arnold Stearman of Edmonton, Alberta and sister Mrs. Wilda Meyers of Oshawa and brother Cloyne Stearman of Ashworth also Miss Julie Baster joined the Kerry family on Thurs- day for dinner. Congratulations Elva. Mr. Bill Stearman and Christopher of Ingersoll visited Walt and Elva Kerry on Friday and Saturday. Betty Tapscott enjoyed her trip to Syracuse N.Y. last week with the Sweet Adalines of Uxbridge. Mr. and Mrs. John Vander Wekkon from Alberta are visiting their son Leo and his wife Betty for a few days. They visited with Doug and Beth Wilson on Sunday evening. Sunday dinner guests with Elmer and Ruth Wilson were Douglas and Beth Wilson and family and Miss Ruby Wilson of Uxbridge who has just returned from the winter in Florida. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Jones of Glen Major visited Paul and Shirley Baster on Sunday. Monday, May 9th from 3 p.m. till 8 p.m. there will be a Blood Donor' Clinic held at Uxbridge Secondary School (note change of location). The local nurses association at Uxbridge Cottage Hospital are sponsoring the clinic. This is Nurses Week. Please take time to "Give" the "Gift of Life." Bring a friend. Gregg Ashton and friend of Oakwood called on his grand- mother one day last week. Gregg's parents Alan and Joyce and brother Bradley called Satur- day evening to visit Ruth Ashton. Miss Mildred Evans of Toronto visited her mother Mrs. Gladys Evans on Saturday at Daheim. Kim Pickett and her fiancee Ray Halliday of South River, stayed overnight with Doug and Beth Evans to be present for an Evans family shower on Sat. afternoon at the home of David her brother Ross Evans and at- tended a shower on Sat. for her daughter Kim. Barbara and Ross Evans and Wendy were supper guests on Sunday with Gerald Acton of Scarborough. Barbara and Ross have just returned from a holiday in Calgary where they attended the National Holstein Convention of Canada. Better weather there than here. Shirley and Paul Baster also have returned home from a beautiful and relaxing holiday in San Francisco. . and Shirley Evans of Uxbridge. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. McKay have just returned from a wonderful trip to Spain. Don't forget the Social Club Progressive dinner. Meet at the church at 7:30 for punch. At 8 p.m. we will leave for our next destina- tion.
