The Greenbank Hall Commit- tees Annual Easter Egg Hunt took place on Good Friday, and 80 children were there to enjoy the fun. The kids took part in a sing- song, watched funny movies, and hunted for Easter eggs. Everyone went home with a delicious chocolate treat. The Hall Commit- tee would like to thank the parents who pitched in to help run the par- ty -- extra hands are always aooreciated! Good Friday Service was held in Pinedale Church this year and was enjoyed by many. Our sympathy is extended to the Leask family and to Fred Phoenix in the sudden passing of Kathleen Leask. The shower for Sharon Baylis will be held Saturday, April 30th at her home. Holly Beattie participated in the Sunderland Skating Carnival and did a very fine job in her part of the Lullaby of Broadway. Con- gratulations. Prof. McCready spent the holiday weekend with his sister at Crystal Lake. Mark McKean and children spent Good Friday at his parents home. The 4-H group spent a very busy day Good Friday at Dagmar Ski Resort, enjoying lunch around their fires. Many had their family gather- ings on Sunday, nice to see so many attend the church service. Also a welcome to newcomers in- to the subdivisions, it is so nice to see you in church. Welcome. Mrs. Olive McMillan visited in Little Britain on Saturday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Hood. Unfortunately, due to a com- bination of circumstances, the Hall Committee will be unable to run a Strawberry Social this year. T-Ball will be starting up dur- ing the first week of May and parents are asked to contact Janet or Greg Banting at 985-3225 by April 15th in order to sign their children up. We are looking for 5 and 6 year olds who were 5 by January 1. In previous years 4 year olds were able to join, but there are now so many of the older children that it is no longer practical. If there are a lot of parents anxious to see their 4 year olds start T-Ball this year, possibly a separate team of this age group could be formed. If there is a parent willing to coach a 4 year old team, please give Janet Banting a call. Don and Helen McKean spent Sunday with Tom and Irene Shadlock. Helen attended Honeydale W.I. meeting and in- stalled their new officers for the coming year. Ladies please remember our W.I. meeting on April 20th at the home of Mrs. Don McKean. There was a good turnout at Muriel Gib- son's home for the U.C.W. meeting where we enjoyed a love- ly devotion comparing the race of our life to the race of the olympic competitors. The Greenbank Evening U.C.W. held their meeting April 6th at the church. Suzzanne Lee and Barbara Ward led the devo- tion on the Easter theme. Con- stable Lynn Kantautas of the Durham Regional Police showed a film "Women Alone" and a question period followed. We had a very good attendance for this in- formative meeting. Our next pro- ject will be a quilt display on May 7 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Greenbank Church. Everyone welcome. If anyone has a quilt to display please contact Dot Hooker. Also in May we will be catering to the school opening with the afternoon group. Remember the Region Rally is on May 12 at Miller Memorial Church - anyone in need of a ride please contact an afternoon member. Mr. and Mrs. Art Couves and Mr. and Mrs. Roddy Foster have returned from their Florida vacations.
