Garden centre okayed A proposal for a commercial nursery and garden centre on the Oshawa Road south of Port Perry met with no strong objections when presented to Township council Monday afternoon. Bill Little, acting on behalf of 985-8954 TUESDAY-FRIDAY 9 AM to 5 PM SATURDAY to NOON Sincerely Yours -- CUSTOM GIFT BASKETS -- or sus 985-3616 Our baskets will make a lasting impression for all occasions. We offer a unique alternative to flowers. Canada wide & USA delivery. Sincerely Yours, HEATHER & MAXINE Kevin Williams, the applicant, told council that the 16.9 acres on the west side of the Oshawa Road, just north of Concession Road 3 is already used by Mr. Williams to grow nursery shrubs and plants. He said his client is seeking a re-zoning to allow for retail sales of garden and nursery ac- cessories and supplies, such as patio and inter-locking bricks, im- ported plants and shrubs. Members of council expressed no objection to the proposal but said the re-zoning should be for this specific and not be a blanket commercial zoning which would allow for any kind of retail use of the parcel. Mr. Williams has been in the landscaping and nursery business for the past three years.
