i i { RRSTIFTEN SE BRRRNTS Auctioneers tie Lindsay 3-3 The Novice Auctioneers were matched up Friday night against Lindsay at the Port Perry Arena. This was their final league game and Port came out with a well deserved tie at 3-3. Lindsay took the lead in the 1st period, with Port coming back ear- ly in the second period to tie it up, only to have Lindsay again take the lead, late in that same period. Port came back with 2 nice goals in the 3rd period to take the lead, however with less than 2 minutes of play left, Lindsay tied up the game. It y a well piayed game and Port never let the opponents get an edge on them, as Lindsay has been" _a strong team all season. Scoring for Port was Tim Fitz- patrick 1 goal, 1 assist, Matthew McClelland 1 goal, ,1 assist, Kent Johnston 1 goal, Darryl Moase 2 assists and Tommy Chambers 1 assist. Juniors win2 The Sportsland 'Juniors started their second round of their schedule, against Mississauga on January 16. I have not got the game sheet for this game, but the Port Perry girls come out of this one, the winners. On January 31 the Sportsland girls played Pickering. After a slow start' and the game at a 2-2 tie, the Port Perry girls put on their jets in the second period and went ahead, win- .ning this one 8-2. Scoring for Port Perry were Lisa Belles keep working Over the past weekend the Port Perry 1.G.A. Belles travelled to St. Catherines to participate in their tournament. We played teams from Woolwich, London and the host team St. Catherines. Although we were on the losing end in all three games the girls played well and with some breaks may have scored more goals. We seem to lack the finish of . our plays around the net but we are improving each time out. The coaching staff is very proud of how the girls behaved themselves as we cut our penalty times down. If we keep up this kind of discipline Levy 5 goals, Rachel Traynor 1 goal, 3 assists, Cathy Coutaulakis 1 goal, 1 assist, Nicole Slack 1 goal and 1 assist each to Michelle Beare and Terri Bell. Cornish Public School recently won "The Reg Trophy' (named PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday, February 2, 1968 -- 25 from left) Jennifer Geer, Suzie Allin, Allison Cowdy, (back) Jennifer Tingle, Landon Drew, after two teachers named Reg), after competing Brett Free, Brad Plain, Brad Moase and Shelley in two tournaments against Jospeh Gould Public Webb. The 13th annual Bon Soo arm wrestling tournament attracted some 60 competitors from Canada and the United States.
