Ilean Pugh, Connie Glass and Mrs. Hubbard were there to help Evelyn celebrate. Happy Bir- thday Evelyn from all in Prince 'Albert. The couples club had a very good time on Sat. Jan. 23 at the Prince Albert Hall, twenty couples enjoyed a night of cards and games. And a great lunch afterwards. In February the couples club will be going to the Latcham Centre for Monte Carlo night. Fourteen tables ot euchre were filled at the Prince Albert Hall on Thursday Jan. 21. Ladies high was Annie Bowman, second was Mary Poots and low was Dorothy Butson and the men put in a good showing - high went to Carl Gimblett, second was Ed Donnelly and low was Harold Burgess. Lucky draw prizes went to Ruby Birkett and Joe McCeslin. Please come out next Thurs. Jan. 28, we will be pleased to see you. Saturday visitors with Helen Jewell on Simcoe St. were her nieces Mary Lynne Graham and Beth Hirst from Toronto. They also visited with Art Fielding and went "up to Port Perry Hospital to visit Mrs. Fielding. Earl Martyn, Ivan Parkinson, Mac Christie were at a reunion for Shouldic Hospital last Saturday in Toronto at the Royal York. Don't forget the Mystery Sister Supper all you gals that belong to it. The date is Thursday Feb. 11 but the place still has a question mark - we will let you know in good time. Mr. and Mrs. Les Beacock were dinner guests last Sunday with their son Don and Marilyn and boys at Seagrave. Last Saturday evening Jan. 16, a huge surprise birthday party was held in Oshawa at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Swain in honour of 'her dad Sandy Moore. Sandy was 75 on January 7, its really hard to believe you carry your age well San- dy. Relatives were present from Toronto, Little Britain, Sonya, Oshawa and Bobcaygeon. Yes Louise and Don Swain were there too and all Sandy's grandchildren. Irene Moore was busy Wednesday January 20 hosting the Shirley Womens Institute - eight ladies in all turned out for the meeting. Happy birthday to Kay Mosienko out on the Oshawa Road a little snow bird told me she was 79 years old last week. Best of Wishes from all at Prince Albert. Don't forget the annual meeting of the Prince Albert United Church on Sunday January 31, its a pot-luck dinner with meeting to follow. Congratulations to Bonnie Solomon on opening her Folk Art Studio on the week. "Just For You" Myrtle Last Sunday Rev. Ian MacRury officiated at our regular service which combined a Christening ser- vice for Baby Sarah Slater daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Slater. The ser- mon was on family and the value of backgrounds, most interesting and the church was beautiful with flowers. The CPR course has been filled. It starts February 15 and runs for three Monday nights, 22 and 29. Nights start at 7:30 and run to 10 o'clock. A date to keep in mind is Feb. 8 when Susan Shepherd will show a slide presentation on Auberge the hostel for abused women and children in Oshawa. If you are in- terested in helping with this project join the United Church Women on this their regular meeting night in the church.
