Nestleton-Caesarea News by Mabel Cawker Lions Club EY Canvass Although a little under last year, the Blackstock and District Lions Club Canvass for CNIB was a suc- cessful drive for funds. The total proceeds amounted to $1,270.00. We congratulate the Lions Club...and commend them for all the good work they do. The Club wishes to thank the com- munity (Cartwright) for being so supportive in the drive...it is much appreciated! Christmas News Henry & Effa Stainton, Williams Point, hosted their family for the Yuletide festivities on Boxing Day, which included son Doug & Jan Stainton, Sandi and Jason of Oshawa, and daughter Lynne & hus- band Doug Lloyd, Lawson |, Julie & Marnie Gay of Whitby. Glenn and Arlene Malcolm, Heather, Alison & Erin, hosted the Christmas gathering for the Malcolm family on Sunday, December 27. Present to enjoy the festivities were Lawrence and Gwen Malcolm, David and Joanne Malcolm and family of Nestleton, Barry and Joan Malcolm of Simcoe, Gail Malcolm of Port Perry, and Dennis and Laina Malcolm and family of Ajax. A fine celebration! Ralph and Leona Sadler of Nestleton, held the Christmas celebration for the family. Those present for the occasion were: Ian and Gloria Scott, Charles and Jen- nifer of Corbyville and Richard and Janice MacKenzie, Claire and Leslie of Nestleton. A nice family get-to-gether! Richard and Janice MacKenzie, Claire and Leslie, of Nestleton, were Christmas guests with his parents, Dr. and Mrs. F. MacKenzie of Toronto, on Sat. Dec. 26th, return- ing home on Sunday after a festive time. Edgar and Anne Emerson, Nestleton, hosted the immediate family, with forty guests present for the Christmas festivities on Sunday, Dec. 27. Ten were unable to attend, including son lan and Carolyn Emerson of St. John's, New- foundland. A meaningful time for all! George and Ella Bowers of Nestleton, enjoyed having daughter Dorothy and husband Ray Carson of Dwight, to spend Christmas with them. On Christmas Day they enter- tained at the Community Centre with\son Earl, daughters Dorothy, Helens Jean and families...some gra iron and five great grandchildren. Jerry, Bert and Ralph and families dropped in on the weekend. On Sunday, Dorothy and Ray took Mom and Dad Bowers to Lindsay, to visit a niece Jackie Reynolds and family. Jean and Ar- nold Williams spent the weekend visiting Steve and Brenda Williams and family of Blind River. Avelyn Williams of Nestleton, en- joyed a few days with her daughter Phyllis and husband Doug Fallis of Bowmanville. Great celebrations! Visiting at the Sam Cawker home during the Yuletide Season were Wilfred and Jeanette Alexander of Oshawa and David and Regenia Walker of Scugog Point and children Avril and Kyle.
