Larry and Beth Schryburt and family of Michigan visited in the area last weekend. It was good to see them. Vera and Vern Asselstine hosted their family for Christmas. Their guests were Gerald Asselstine of Oshawa, Allan and Mary Allselstine, Tania, Michael and Mark of Ottawa, Les and Leah Asselstine, Gayle and Rob of Kit- chener, Floyd and Ruth Asselstine, Michelle and Craig, Colin and Christine Asselstine and Jennifer all of this area, and Teresa Asselstine of Orangeville. Over the holiday time all of the young people visited their grandmother, Vera's mother, Mrs. Chaplin of Hillsdale. Mrs. Edna Kelly of Bobcaygeon spent a few days with her son Gerald and Joyce Kelly and girls. Details of the award are available in agricultural representatives' offices across the province. : Obi tuary Shirley Saltariche A resident of Blackstock, Shirley Pamela Saltariche died at the Oshawa General Hospital on Fri day, December 4, 1987 Born on April 5, 1937 in Gosport, England. she was married to Manuel Saltariche. A teller at the Bank of Commerce in Port Perry, Mrs. Saltariche also enjoyed gardening. She was the English National Champion for fishing. She is survived by her husband, Manuel; a daughter, Gay England of Bowmanville; twe grandchildren, Rachel and John; one brother, Ron Moore; and two sisters, Maureen Tate and lleen Jackson, of England. A funeral service was held in the chapel at the McIntosh-Anderson [Funeral Home on Tuesday, Dec. 8, 1987. Rev. Bill Tadeja officiated Cremation followed at the Thorn ton Crematorium.
