While Mike Tripp was the net- minder for the Red Wings, Mike Staniland was able to score 4 goals for the Canadians. Playing superb in net during the entire game for the Cartwright Canadians was Brandon Agnew. He allowed only two goals to be scored by the Red Wings Mike Hepburn scored a goal in the first period while Mike Tripp scored his goal of the game in the second period. During the 2nd and 3rd period, Matthew Coyne played great in net for the Red Wings and only allowed 2 goals to be scored on him. Mike Staniland scored his fifth goal of the game and Kendall Chorostecki scored the final goal of this game for the Canadians. Both of these goalies, Brandon and Matthew, earned shut-outs dur- ing the 3rd period with help from the steady play of their defensemen. On Tuesday December 15, the YM floor hockey Port Perry Green Giants visited the Blackstock Bruins for their rematch of the season and were disappointed because only 3 of the Blackstock players showed up for this game. With volunteers from the Giants taking turns playing for the Bruins, the Green Giants beat their host by the score of 14 to 9. Scoring for the Green Giants were Brandon Johnston with 5, John Hill "with 3, Kevin Pearce and Louis Whitfield each with 2 and singles by Andrew Jones and David Verschuuren. Pat Smith played well in net for the Green Giants allowing only 2 goals in the first period. Mike Staniland and Mike Hepburn each scored 4 goals for the Bruins while Chris Bryant scored one. We would like to thank the fathers of the Green Giants who braved the storm to take their sons to this game. Please remember, the Floor Hockey season starts again on January 11 at R.H.
