Bruins nip Flyers in floor hockey match On November 30, the Port Perry Beige Flyers played host to the Blackstock Bruins in a very exciting Junior Floor Hockey game, but lost to the Bruins by a score of 5 to 4. For the Blackstock Bombers, Brad Morton scored their first goal on the. Flyer's goalie, Doug Short, in the first period while Dillon Weber and Tommy Waters were each able to get the puck pass Doug in the se- cond period of this game. Adam Jones was the only Beige Flyer that was able to put the puck between the pipes when Luke Car- naghan was playing in the net for Game one was a close, hard fought battle in which Norton's Home Improvements squeaked past J & D Carpentry 2-1. Capitalizing for Norton's were Rob Evans from Bob Lee, and Clarence Stephenson from Dan Car- ty and Bob McEachern. The lone marker for J & D was Joe Curran from Jody Peters and Dennis Lycett. Game two saw Crandell's River- boat defeat Dennis Andersons 5-3. Scorers for Crandells were Ken Jeffrey 2 goals, Larry Jackson 2 goals, Richie LeFort 1 goal, 1 assist. The score, after two periods, was 3 to 1 for the Blackstock Bombers. In the third period, the Beige Flyers came flying out and tied up the game at three by getting single goals from Matthew Koetje and Jef- frey Whitfield. The Bombers broke the tie by getting a goal on a long shot by Ronald Kelly that bounced into the net off of the foot of Doug Mens Hockey Scoring for Sportsland were "Doc" Thomson 2 goals, 1 assist, Mark Jobb 1 goal, 1 assist, and Ken Little 1 goal. While the Flyers were short-handed, Dillon Weber was able to make a rush up the floor to put his second and final goal of the game in the Flyer's net for the Bombers to win this entertaining game by 5 to 4. Doug Short played excellent goal in the net for the Beige Flyers by making great saves, while Brenda Tromans for the Blackstock Bombers consistently stopped the Flyer's attack. In senior action, the Green Giants played extra hard to stay ahead of the Red Wings and to beat them by Aa score of 8 to 6. The Red Wings got on the scoreboard first by Sean Sauter picking up 2 and Blair Prechitko 1 in the first period on Pat Smith, the Giant's goalie. For the ireen Giants, Kevin Pearce got 2 goals pass Wade Sheedy who was playing in the net for the Red Wings. Giant's Todd Stewart and Louis Whitfield each scored a goal to finish off the scoring for the first period and to move the Green Giants ahead by a score of 4 to 3. In the second period, Kevin Pearce scored his third goal of the game for the Green Giants to earn his hat trick while Andrew Jones and Todd Stewart each also scored Kevin Stewart, the goalie for the Red Wings. Matthew Youmans was the only scorer for the Red Wings by getting one goal past Louis Whitfield who was playing excellent goalten- ding for the Green Giants. In the third period, the Red Wings put the pressure on with Blair Prechitko scoring two more goals for the Red Wings to earn his hat trick of the game.
