A delicious roast beef din- ner was served by both UCW Units, followed by presentations and a few speakers with Rod Foster as M.C. Den Beeton presented team spon- sors Lloyd and Marion Lee with a plaque in token of their support. Cathy Foster made a scrapbook of team sports write-up for team manager Rod Foster. Rod Real was presented with a trophy for highest batting average in the Oshawa City and District fastball league for 1987. Ken and Dianne Goreski accepted two trophies on behalf of son Mark who is holidaying in Florida. Mark was chosen MVP by his team-mates and received the Rod Foster trophy for this. In the Oshawa City and District League, Mark had the best pitcher's record and received a trophy for this as well. Congratulations to Rod, Mark and Greenbank Gamblers on your efforts in 1987. A surprise party was held at the Port Perry Curling Rink on Sat. evening for Helen and Morley Parish, on the occasion of their com- ing (Dec.27th) 40th Wedding An- niversary. When all of their families including their 15 grandchildren and friends gathered to help celebrate this happy occasion, with music, dancing and visiting and a delicious buffet lunch was served at midnight.
