At 4:15 p.m., on October 28th, following a Reception at the R.S. McLaughlin Armoury, Oshawa, Christmas Seal Chairman Lorna Braid officially opened the : Campaign by detonating several i 76mm. triple exploding rocket 5 fireworks. During the Reception, the General Motors Choir, Bell Canada employees and Burrows Oxygen Ltd., were each presented with a "Cecil" Award, in recognition of their many years support of the Lung Association. Campaign organizers are hoping to raise $140,000 from the 110,000 packages of Christmas Seals, which ? will be mailed to homes across 3 Durham Region during the first weeks of November.
