W.M. Elsie Wilbur and W.P. Norm Mairs opened the Chapter in regular form with Mar- shal Debby Davis presenting the Flag in the East...and Chaplain Judy Davidson leading in Prayer at the Altar. Many distinguished guests were present. The Matron and Patron had the pleasure of welcoming Grand Conductress, Sister Audrey Martin, of the Grand Chapter of Ontario, and D.D.G.M. of District II, Patricia Ward...Past D.D.G.M.'s Bessie Cosway, Erline Finney, Hallie McGinnis and Betty Dowden were warmly greeted. During year-end business..a mo- tion was made that a cheque for $600.00 be issued towards equipment for a wheelchair for a six year old Port Perry girl.. this is the retiring Worthy Matron, Sister Elsie's pro- ject for the year. The Installing Board was welcom- ed by W.M. Elsie...then she dismiss- ed her officers and committees with a sincere word of thanks...and the Installing Office Doris Nottingham was invited to preside. After a brief recess...Installing Marshal Marguerite Mitchell, Floral Mar- shal Adelia Mowbray, Organist Joyce Taylor and Chaplain Margorie McCombe- assisted by past Matrons of Blue Ray carried out the Installation Ceremonies. After the new W.M. Karel Not- tingham was installed and W.P. Jack Nottingham was at the Altar.. Karel sang a lovely, fitting solo to Jack, "I Will Need You At My Side" which she had written. She ac- companied herself on the Auto-harp. The newly installed Matron & Patron Karel & Jack welcomed their family and guests into the Chapter. The immediate P.M. Elsie Wilbur was presented with her Jewel by her Twin daughters, Pauline Pavlik & Noreen Trudel and the immediate ~ P.P. Norm Mairs was presented with his Bar by P.M. Elsie. All retired to the lower hall for the social hour...arranged and conven- ed by Marg Jeffrey & Elsie Wilbur, assisted by the members. A delicious lunch of sandwiches, relish trays, dainty cookies and squares served buffet style, made for an en- joyable evening. Thanksgiving News Roy & Doris Nottingham of Caesarea, were guests with Ralph & Diane Nottingham and Jeffrey, in Uxbridge, on Sunday. On Monday, they had dinner with Paul & Beth Nottingham, Sarah & Aaron, of Sunderland. Other guests were Gary & Margit, Allan & Julie of R.R.1, Oshawa. John & Marion Hall, Williams Point, hosted their family for Thanksgiving on Sunday, October 11. On October 5, Mrs. Mary Ryan of Caesarea, was pleased to have her nephew, John O'Donnell "of Sacramento, California, and while in the village he was entertained at a party & dinner, '"'hosted" by Mr. and Mrs. Jack Morgan of Caesarea & Toronto. He was the reci- pient of many lovely gifts...and numerous phone calls from relatives and friends. And after a series of tests in Oshawa Hospital on two occasions, he had *'a new lease on life" on Friday last, with a glow- ing report! We're all very happy! Sam & Mabel Cawker attended the very lovely 50th anniversary celebration for friends, Albert and Lillian Harper of Port Perry, on Sunday afternoon. The festivities were held in the Oddfellow's Hall, with a fine number present for this joyous occasion. Nestleton Presbyterian Church Holy Communion was observed at the 10 a.m. Church Service in Nestleton Presbyterian Church with Rev. F. Swann officiating. He was assisted by Elders Stan McNeely and George Scott. Mrs. Dorothy McCabe presided at the organ. Psalm 107 verses 1-15 was read in unison and the Seripture was II Cor- inthians 9. He presented inspiring thoughts on "Gralitude" based on Scripture from Luke & John, read by Dan Pugh Jr. & Dan Pugh Sr. Psalm 106 was led by Arden Maschke. Several children sang with the musicians Anne Maschke & Kathy Watt ac- companying. Beautiful floral ar- rangements were lovely, and fruits ahd vegetables of the season were in abundance at the front of the church. Rev. Dr. W.H. Crawford conducted the service. Rev. Dale Davis conducted the service and Carol Mairs was the capable pianist. The Notman girls, Claire & Jennifer, sang a lovely duet entitled, "Friendship! unaccom- panied. Scripture was read, Ruth I: [-19, by one of the students, and the Scripture, Matthew 22: 15-22 was read by Arlene Malcolm. Alison Malcolm read a humorous poem, "The A B C's of Agriculture." Rev. Dale Davis spoke on "The Conflict of Commitment." Joanna Malcolm, on behalf of the Sunday School, presented Bibles to Carla Davis & Aaron Hill. A very impressive service!
