Lenny Bain's team won out over Brad Thorn's team in the final game, with a score of 14 to 12. Carl Baylis was chosen the most valuable player for the men, and Janice Lee for the ladies. Special thanks to Brian Gibson and Lawrence Midgley for providing the fence, and Norman Crawford, our A scorekeeper. Twenty-three members and visitors of Womens Institute met on Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. Eileen Shier showed slides of Hawaii, which was enjoyed by all. Plan to attend the afternoon unit of U.C.W. meeting on Wednesday morning October 7 at fifteen minutes to ten, in the church. We'll be enjoying a trip to the Yukon, Good time was had by all at Block Parents Greenbank dance Utica and Area News by Judy MacSween Sunaay School Anniversary was held this week and the Junior Choir took part. Church and Sunday School will be held at Utica this coming Sunday at 11:15 a.m. World Wide Communion will be celebrated at this time. There will be a euchre held at Utica Hall Friday at 8 p.m. If you see Mrs. Crosier on Satur- day, wish her a happy birthday. Eric and Megan Wallace of Bolton called on Mrs. Crosier on Saturday. On behalf of the Block Parent Association we thank Gord and Jill Postma for all their hard work to make the dance Saturday night in Greenbank such a success. Between great food and music a good time was had by all. © Bill and Eileen Mole have return- ed from a pleasant 5 weeks of visiting family and friends in St. Alban's Herts, England. The Board of Directors of the Utica Day Care Centre would like to thank all those who attended our of- ficial opening on September 25. Belated sympathy to the Doug Taylor family in the bereavement of Judy's grandmother Mrs. Lapp. Best Wishes are extended to Bill and Debbie Logan and baby from south of Utica who will be taking up new residence in Sault-Ste-Marie. Carolyn and Jim Beelby and fami- ly spent an enjoyable weekend visiting with her Uncle Tom and Aunt Karen Fowle and cousins Jesse and Amy in Shawville, Quebec. through the eyes of our travellers, Muriel Gibson and Helen McKean. The Evening unit of U.C.W. will be holding their meeting on Oct. 7 at 8 p.m. at the church. Their guest speaker will be Bryan Davies, lawyer, whose topic will be "Fami- ly Law," - visitors are welcome. U.C.W. are collecting good, used, adult clothing for the Whitby Psychiatric Hospital, also materni- ty clothing for the Victor Home. Anyone who has any clothing to donate, may bring them toa U.C.W. meeting or leave them with Ellie Speck or Debbie Beatty. Don and Helen McKean visited with her son Larry in Barrie Hospital on Saturday. A good time was enjoyed by those who attended the Community Dance at Greenbank Hall on Saturday night. A good number of the people who came were from Epsom, and their enthusiastic participation was much appreciated. Many thanks to all those people who supported the Block Parent Association for this event, by donating their money and their time to run the dance and to clean up afterwards.
