The rain held off long enough on Friday evening for the first Port Perry Scouts and Cubs and some of their parents to enjoy a lovely campfire and corn roast at Nonquon Educational Centre, organized by their leaders. Guests for dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Earle on Sunday, were son Chris and wife Brenda, and their children, Benjamin, Joseph and Heather of Bowmanville. There will be no church service at Greenbank next Sunday as it is Seagrave Anniversary at 11 a.m. Murray and Shirley Lee have their grandchildren, Janna and Joshua Roundell of Ajax, visiting with them while their parents are on a holiday. The Greenbank Ladies Lob Ball team ended the season as winners of the Sunderland Ladies Lob Ball Tournament, on Sunday, September 20. It was a rainy championship game against Beaverton, but Green- bank managed to find the ball, bet- ween the puddles, and win 4-0. Official opening for Utica Day Care Centre by Vera Brown This Sunday at Epsom Church the Sunday School will hold their An- niversary Service at the regular time of 11:15 a.m. The Official opening of the Utica Day Care Centre is this Friday at 2 p.m. and everyone is invited to at- tend for this special event. The winners at the euchre this past Friday at the hall were for the ladies - Erma Watson 1st, Bernice Loudfoot 2nd and Olive Ormiston was low. For the men - Joe Ward 1st, Verna Draper 2nd and Iva Yake was low. Freeze-out winners were Grant Bright & Martin Gall, Corley Ashenhurst & Ernie Luke were se- cond. There will be another euchre in two weeks. Doug and Judy MacSween and boys have returned from a week's holidaying with Doug's family in P.E.1. and while there attended a family reunion in his honour. Weekend visitors at our house were son Charlie & Susan from Joyceville. On Saturday evening they attended a party in their honour given to. them by Todd Wilbur and Carolyn Ball and on Sun- day they were honoured with a shower given them by Dorothy Ger- row at View Lake.
