So, maybe the girl's a real whiz. She can hold her gwn. She's built tough and plays mean. But still, if the guys start eir little hockey club for guys why don't they have the right to limit membership"? Forget girls on the boys teams. If thé boys want to form their own team with no girls allowed, let them. It'll only cause resentment if you force them to play with the girls and who knows where that resentment will surface later. The boys need some time to themselves. Let the girls have their own teams, too. Then start a league for those boys and girls who want mixed teams. But for Heaven's sake if a gang of boys or girls want a club where they can relate to members of their own sex on their own levels, let them. Or next thing you know, we'll have boys demanding to join Brownies and they are going to look mighty ridiculous in little brown skirts. could be a Random Jottings (From page 6) careful in the future about watching him, as they can disap- pear in a flash, and the feeling of helplessness is not something I want to experience ever again. BB THE MP Spent about three hours in Uxbridge last Thursday night as the election returns were coming in for Bill Ballinger, a godd friend and an old school buddy of mine. Bill was running on the Peterson ticket against another local boy who had gone to Uxbridge High School the same time as we did, so it proved to be a close race as two hometown boys battled face to face. If there is one thing that Bill knows how to do, it is to ral- ly the troops and get the best out of people, and the two to three hundred people who jammed the community centre in Uxbridge, were riding a high as the returns rolled in and the spread became greater for Bill. Being a close family man, it was not surprising to see Bill call his mother, father, wife Donna and the three kids to the stage to take part in the victory, before he even began to thank his hundreds of faithful party supporters and workers. It was a big day for Bill and the family, and I can only wish him success in his years as a provincial politician Fulford-L.echane Columbus United Church, Columbus, was the setting of the mar riage of Carol Eileen Lehane and John Edward Fulford, on May 30, 1987 | The bride 1s the daughter of Mr and Mrs. John Lehane, Colum bus, and the groom 1s the son of Mr and Mrs. Albert Fulford, of Port Perry The couple now reside in Toronto Cou niry Lane REALTY LIMITED Hwy 7A & High Street.
