David Shepherd back at the pulpit of our church last Sunday morning, follow- ing his month of August vacation. The Shepherd family enjoyed a visit to several locations in our Province, and on to New Brunswick where they once lived. Thanksgiving and fall anniversary music. : Chinese officials visit Four senior Chinese Officials from the Province of Sichuan, who are in Canada for meetings with the Federal Government will visit Durham College on Wednesday, September 16. They include Hao Wang, Director of the Bureau of Economic Cadre Education; Wen Xin, Chairman of the Sichuan Planning and Economic Commission; Hanying Shi, Deputy Director and Dean of the China Enterprise Management Training Centre at Chengdu; and Jin Quian, staff interpreter and translator, China Enterprise Management Training Centre at Chengdu. Harold Goldin, Canadian Senior Project Of- ficer of the Association of Canadian Community Colleges, China Field Office, Chengdu, will accompany the party. While at Durham College, the Chinese Officials will receive a briefing on College Administration and Government Relationships, by President Mel Garland; Informa- tion on the Business and Technology Faculties from Dean Jack David- son; and informationn on the Ap- plied Arts and Health Sciences Faculties from Dean Don Michie. Emphasis will be on Management Education and.Training. | Don Hargest, Dean of the Facul- ty of Skills Development, will outline the work of his faculty with particular reference to linkage with industry and the Community In- dustrial Training Committee. The Chinese visitors will be taken on a tour of the College Faculties, and will also have a tour of General Motors. Their visit to Durham Col- lege stems from a specific interest in the Administrative procedures and processes of a college in Canada, and the relationships bet- ween the college and government.
