12 -- PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday, August 18, 1987 Music merriment at park Seagrave and Area News by Kaaren Johnston Our community 1s saddened to hear of the loss of Donna Prentice's father, Mr. Donald Moir of Toronto, who passed away last week after suffering a heart attack. Our thoughts are with the entire family. The two baseball teams who have many Seagrave residents as players, namely McTaggart Elec- tric and Norm's General Contrac- ting, did not, unfortunately, end up as winners at the tournament held this past weekend. However, the boys played their hearts out and a great time was had by all. The Seagrave Park "Celebration of the Lights' was an enormous suc- cess. Music are merriment could be heard till the wee hours. Thanks again to Morley and Lola Bruce for hosting the annual Port EMMERSON INSURANCE ERS LIMITED 193 QUEEN ST, PORT PERRY. Don & Bren- da hosted the cruise for the Central Seven clients on Lake Simcoe just two short weeks ago. Birthday wishes are extended to Ann Currie who has also enrolled in the '39 and holding" club. Seagrave Squirts - McTaggart Electric participated in the Port Perry Minor Ball Tournament on Saturday. The boys played well but were put out in the 4th game. They want (0 thank Brian McTaggart for not on- ly sponsoring their team but also for coaching along with Larry Taylor and Keith Puckrin. Also, thank-you to Mrs. Emily Lemieux for her ex- pert score keeping and stop-watch. It's been a great year for the boys and they ended their year being in 1st place in their league. And there were lights - The Celebration of Lights turned out to be the party of the year for Seagrave. The weather, the friends, old and new, the ball game and dance and feast of corn on the cob and hot dogs made a night to remember. Thank you to all who helped to make this celebration possible.
