Good weather and delicious food made for happy memories. In the evening the family return- ed to Grant and Lynn's home to honour Garry and Debbie Evans with a family shower. Doris and Tom Pickett of Deep River were weekend guests with Ross and Barbara Evans. Don't forget the Social Club Pic- nic next Sunday afternoon. Everyone in the community is in- vited to the Tapscott cottage on Cameron Lake. Come early to enjoy the swimming, boating and other sports. Bring a chair and your pic- nic basket for an early supper. Mr. and Mrs. Chris Ruhl have been entertaining Chris' brother and his wife from Holland and have a busy time visiting relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. MacKay have been entertaining a friend Naomi Nevile of Winnipeg for a few days. Tom and Laura Hansen took his mother to see a Blue Jay game in Toronto. She must have inspired them. They won. John and Barbara Barfoot and daughter of Brooklin called for her mother Evelyn Hansen and brother Carl and they went to Orono Exotic Cat Zoo. The children enjoyed the many animals and particularly the petting zoo. Roy and Nancy Menagh and Mur- ray Potter were with the Baster family Friday evening, Monday evening Cathy and Mur- ray were supper guests with Paul and Shirley Baster. Mr. and Mrs. Donand Asling visited over the weekend with their son Jerrold and Mrs. Asling of field day District 7 is holding their Annual Field Day in conjunction with the Blackstock Fair this year, August 29, 1987. There will be an indoor display booth with lamb meatballs, plus a variety of outdoor activities, such as, sheep handling demonstrations, breed displays, 4-H competition and a sheep dog demonstration. Plan to attend the Annual Field Day and enjoy a great one day coun- try Fair. The District 7 Annual Meeting will again be held at the Latcham Cen- tre in Port Perry. Social hour starts at 6:30 p.m, followed by a Pot Luck dinner, Annual Meeting and a film. TURMBERG KENNELS Fal Training start August 11th. On Monday evening there was a family shower for Garry and Deb- bie Evans at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wilson. Paul Kerry was home for the weekend from Montreal. The Postmas were at a Postma family picnic at the home of Gor- don's sister at Pefferlaw. The Taylors were pleased to have their son John, his wife and their daughter of London, Ontario visit them this weekend. Julie Baster was a weekend guest with her friend Ann Tapscott at the Tapscott cottage. On Sunday after church, Paul and Shirley Baster drove to Cameron Lake and had lunch and supper at the Tapscott cottage. We are pleased to have Luella Bailey home from the hospital and feeling some better. Epsom Community held a rousing old time chivaree last Wednesday evening and presented a sum of money to Garry and Debbie Evans with all our good wishes for a long and happy married life. Garry and Debbie thanked those present for their gift and best wishes. Our sympathy to the Asling fami- ly in the loss of Donald and Walter's mother, Mrs. Alma Asling who was laid to rest last Thursday. Stella, Donald and Hazel Asling attended a beautiful memorial service at Fair- view Lodge on Friday. Clowning around A clown rides a bike in the parade, during Saturday morning's regatta parade.
