The Kinsmen won with a score of 16 to 7. Homeruns were scored by Sean O'Donoghue, Brad Morton and Gordon Bently. Sean "and Brad also hit doubles as did William Michel. Katherine Ellis, Blain Pelrine, Tracy Doyle and William Michel, scored singles. Outstanding catches were made by Mike Leeming and Gordon Bently. Excellent fielding was handled by Lori Boyce, David Kemp, Matthew Bradburn and Steven Kyte. Lishman's and Don Frew and Sons played two great games. One ended with a 19 to 19 tie, the other with a score of 13 to 10 for Frews. In the tie game Scott Sutton and Ron- nie Vokins scored triples while April Wasson and Tanya Mappin scored doubles. Singles were hit by April Wasson, Shane Wasson, Nicole Leach, Tanya Mappin and Geordie Lishman. Nicole Leach, Scott Sutton and Geordie Lishman made outstan- ding catches. In the other game Scott Sutton hit a homerun, two singles and made a great catch. Ronnie Vokins, Christie Vanderende and Tanya Mappin also hit singles. Fabulous pitching was done by Tanya Mappin and Ronnie Vokins. Great catching was shared by Pcole Leach and Scott Sutton. n July 6 at the diamond in Port Perry the Lions beat the Gators with a final score of 15 to 14. Don Hughes hit a triple and Kevin Ellis hit a dou- ble. Singles were hit by Chris Beacock, Martin Stubbs and Kevin Ellis. Outstanding catches were made by Kevin Ellis, Chris Beacock, Peter Simms, and Cory Wilson. Pitching was shared by Cory Wilson, Martin Stubbs and Bill Vine. Chris Stevens and Bill Johnson did a great job of fielding and the whole team played a great game. Also on July 6 a game was played between H & M Wright Sox and Swain Seeds. The Sox won with a score of 10 to 3. Dustin Marnoch hit a double and Shauna Hassal and Allan Richmond both hit singles. On July 7 at Blackstock, Port Perry Kinsmen beat Super Spuds with a score of 28 to 3. Homeruns were scored by Steven Kyte, Jason Logan and Mike Leeming. Sean O'Donoghue and Matthew Bradburn both scored triples. Doubles were hit by Brad Morton, Steven Kyte, Gor- don Bently, Lori Boyce and Mat- thew Bradburn. David Kemp, Jeremy Malcolm, Tracy Doyle, Lori Boyce and William Michel all hit singles. Outstanding catches were made by Jason Logan and Gordon Bently. On July 9, Blackstock Lions were victorious over Causeway Esso. Three homeruns were hit by Don Mites minor softball results Mancon Services Mites from Greenbank defeated Rent & Save 20-10. Greenbank had Heather Harris making an outstanding triple play by herself by catching a fly ball, tag- ging the runner on second and touching third base before the run- ner going home could get back. Well done Heather. Amanda Robinson, Heather Tred- way and Jeremy Gibson played a good defensive game and all went 3 for 3 at the plate. Rent and Save's hitting was led by Geoffrey Barton, Shona Moase, Christa Guenther, Jeffrey Mullin with three hits each. Hughes and one each by Peter Simms and Bill Vine. Bill Johnson hit a triple and Chris Beacock, Cory Wilson, Chris Stevens, Martin Stubbs and Don Hughes all hit doubles. Singles were hit by Chris Stevens, Martin Stubbs, Bill Johnson, Cory Wilson, Bill Vine, Chris Beacock and Don Hughes. Outstanding catches were made by Cory Wilson, Chris Beacock, Chris Stevens and Peter Simms. Good Sportsmanship was displayed by Peter Simms and Chris Beacock. The final score of the game was 20 to 18. Swain Seeds met Asselstine's Yamaha on July 13 at Blackstock. Swains won with a score of 20 to 11. Derrick Malcolm hit a homerun and a triple. Allan Richmond and Dustin Marnoch both hit doubles and Shauna Hassall hit a single. Cat- ching duties were shared by Mandi Crowder and Scott Malcolm who both did a great job. At Caesarea on July 14, Swain Seeds beat H & M Wright Sox with a score of 12 to 8. Two homeruns were scored by Derrick Malcolm and one by Dustin Marnoch. A dou- _ ble was hit by Allan Richmond and a single by Dustin Marnoch. Good fielding was done by. Pam Goble at second and Dustin Marnoch who had two ground outs at first. Thanks to the young fellow who volunteered to umpire! Also on July 14, Super Spuds met Turner's Green Giants at Blackstock. For the Giants Sean Lewerenz hit three homeruns and Brad Vokins, Kirk Swain, Mike Nash and Brent Donnelly all hit one each. Doubles were hit by Scott Go- Gamblers ble, Kirk Swain, Ryan Larner and Brent Donnelly and singles by Scott Goble, Brad Vokins, Jonathan McCourt, Ryan Larmer, Brent Don- nelly, Mike Nash, Trisha McCourt and Kevin Gilbank. Outstanding catches were made by Ryan Larmer, Sean Lewerentz, Jonathan McCourt and Brad Vokins. For Super Spuds, Adam Wan- nacott made two outstanding pop fly catches in right field and Joshua Malcolm made a good catch at first to get the batter out. The whole team played well. On July 15, Super Spuds played Port Perry Kinsmen at Caesarea. Adam Wannacott made two more great catches in outfield for Super Spuds and Ryan Copithorn made two base hits. Outstanding pitching was done by Gostlin and good first base playing by Kingsley Malcolm. For Port Perry Kinsmen William Michel, Sean O'Donoghue and Mike Leeming scored homeruns. Two doubles were hit by Scott Nesbitt and one by Brad Morton. Brad Mor- ton also scored a double as did Jason Logan, Gordon Bently, William Michel and Mike Leeming. Three outstanding catches Were made by Brad Morton and one each by Gor- don Bently and Sean O'Donoghue. The final score of the game was 37 to 12 for the Kinsmen. Don Frew and Sons played Lishman's in Blackstock. The final score was a 19 to 19 tie. Yvette Renes hit a single while Mike Robin- son and Janet Kelly both hit doubles. Adam Cummings hit a triple and Bradley Malcolm and Garry (Turn to page 23) clip Eagle wings in victory Mark Goreski pitched a master- ful three hitter to lead the Green- bank Gamblers to an easy 6-0 vic- tory over the Port Perry XL Eagles. Port's starting pitcher Ken Irvine was rocked for all six runs in the two innings he endured before being relieved by Lawrie Williams. Gambler third baseman Don Beaton did the most damage with a three run homer to put the game away early. Goreski faced four batters above the minimum, allowing a double by Dave Dickson, singles by Jay and Lawrie Willilams and a walk. This week's games have the Gamblers at home Monday night to M.C.L. Juniors and away to Clare- mont Wednesday. Port Perry travels to Stouffville Wednesday night and hosts Oshawa A.C.L. Thursday at 8:30. From Friday, July 31 to Monday, August 3, Port Perry XL EAgles host the 14th annual Port Perry Fastball Tournament at the lakefront. Sixteen teams play a minimum of three games to qualify for the playoffs leading to a cham- pion on the Monday night. There will be 34 games played with quite a few local teams involved.
