After the service a congregational get-to-gether social was held when coffee, sandwiches and straw berry shortcake was served A very special time was when Eva and Ar- thur Richardson were honoured, and presented with a lovely floor lamp & a tree. They have moved to Port Perry to make their home. We will miss them here, but we wish them much happiness in their new home. Florence Ashton has been spen- ding some time with her aunt Ruth Purdy, who will have an auction sale next Saturday, July 4th at Mono Centre. If you get your paper on Tuesday, tomorrow is the day for the long planned for picnic in the park at 2 p.m. There will be the cutting of the ribbon & ceremony to open the Fred Daw Memorial Trail at the com- munity centi'e & then everyone can proceed through the trail to the big park, where there will be free hot dogs, hamburgs etc. & to work up an appetite, there will be lots of fun contests & games. A big feature will be the massive tug-of-war between the local politicians & the village folk. Probably the most lasting good that will come out of this picnic is that we will get to know each other better. Congratulations to Mark deWolde of Bra-ma-rod Farms, who won Grand Champion live performance tested barrow at the Ontario Pork Congress held, at Stratford this week. This barrow was raised in poissant crates & was purchased by the same company at $31.00 a pound. : Thought: The supreme happiness of life is the conviction that we are loved.
