Mrs. Ruhl's brother John & his wife left for Holland today (Sunday) before coming to Canada, they had toured Australia & New Zealand. In the afternoon Alan, Joyce, Paul, Greg -& Bradley of Oakwood called on Mrs. Ashton. Doug & Beth Wilson hosted an evening family picnic for the Acton family on Sat. evening. Elmer & Ruth Wilson visited Mr: & Mrs. Keith Wilson & family of - Aurora for the day & in the evening attended Dawn's graduation from public school. Carol & Judy Hansen of Scar- borough were weekend guests with their mother Evelyn Hansen. Scugog Island by Mrs. Earl Reader The "Head" UCW will meet this Wed. at 8 p.m. June 24th at the home of Mrs. Marilyn Tripp. Now the ladies of the Scugog Island Women's Institute are preparing for their last big drive of | the year in the Annual Yard & Bake Sale, Sat. July 18th at the Communi- ty Hall, 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Just 3 hours you see. So you'll have to be there early. _As ususal, they will appreciate donations of any items no heavier than 1 or 2 women can lift. Money from this Annual sale is always used for Community work or student awards. Therefore you are helping the efforts of these hard- working. women, yourselves & the community. The Youth group at the Island United is holding steady with 14 or 15 members. They have made a few plans for summer to include grass cutting & help with Bible School. Weather held well over the weekend to encourage success with the Strawberry Social with musical program on Sat. evening & then the S.S. & Congregational Picnic at Island United on Sunday. In the Fall, more teachers are needed at Scugog United Sunday School ds some have seryed several years & wish a change & others have moved. If interested, Please call Jan Gerrow 985-3025. Island representatives, please note that the Scugog Social Plann- ing Council will meet Mon. June 29th, the last meeting until Sept. - This will surely be a busy & in- teresting weekend with the High School Reunion & many former students in the area to visit former haunts & friends.
