The highlight of the regular, June meeting of the Scugog Island Women's Institute was a very enter- taining & informative talk on Brazil. Mr. Gary Fitchett illustrated his talk on Brazil with slides which showed the enormity & beauty of this intriguing country. Surprising- ly; Brazil has many beautiful} buildings that are architectural, masterpieces. In.contrast, there is' the beauty of the jungle & the Amazon River. We were told of liv- ing conditions & farming in Brazil. One advantage for cattle farmers is that pasture is available year round . with no need for hay production. The business meeting was chaired by President Mary Ostrom. Members ~ were reminded of the Jumble, Bake & Yard Sale scheduled for July.
