The Ladies booth for selling lunches was well patronized, the profit will go to help furnish the Daycare Cen- tre at Utica. Epsom Church Service was left in the capablehands of Rev. Dr. Wm. McKay while Rev. Nancy Water- man and Shirley Baster attended the annual meeting of the Toronto Conference of the United Church. This was an extra special occa- sion for Epsom Community as John Tapscott was one of the twenty-two candidates to be ordained. John and his parents visited his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Herb Thompson' of Markham in honour of the occasion. John wore his gown, congratulations from us all. We are sorry Grandma Thomas' health is low. . Walter & Elva Kerry & family at- tended the graduation ceremonies at Kemptville. Congratulations to 1 Glen who was one of the graduates. The Social Club enjoyed touring the McLaughlin Museum on Friday evening - some reminisced about early driving experiences and trips in the rumble seat. Lunch followed at Epsom Church. Thank you to Nancy and Gerald Hill, Faye and Keith Ashton for hosting such an en-, joyable outing. There will be no church at Epsom, June 7th. We will meet at Goodwood United Church at 11 a.m. It is their 80th anniversary. The bell from the old church has been installed and will be used for the first time in its new heme. Next social evening, June 19th will be a sports night hosted by the McKays, Watsons and Taylors. Doug and Beth Wilson, Michael, Tanya and Virginia were supper guests with Doug's parents Ruth and Elmer Wilson on Sat. evening. Pies again, ladies, Sat. evening. June 6th for Peter Kowalow. These might be left with Vera Brown, Elizabeth Taylor or Elva Kerry Fri- day evening or may be taken to the sale before 11 a.m. Sat. - first farm east of Hwy. 12 on Conc. 6. Proceeds for the local church. Ruth Ashton enjoyed having grandsons Jamie and Robert Ashton and Barry Catherwood also Barry's parents as supper guests. On Wed. evening over 70 in- terested friends and neighbours toured the newly renovated Barn Open House hosted by Betty and Daycare centre profited from pie sale Norm Tapscott and Nancy and Gerald Hill. On Sat. Allan and Joyce Ashton, Paul and Bradley called on Ruth Ashton then went to visit Joyce's father. On Sun. several friends from the area helped Doris afd Alan Hocke- ly celebrate their 25th anniversary at their home in Unionville. Earl and Elizabeth Taylor visited with Edith and Stanely Powell at their home in Whitby. The Powells were celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary. Congratulations to Don and Fay Simmonds on the safe arrival of their son on Thursday. The Institute meeting at the home of Anne Beare last Wed. evening was well attend- ed. The 4-H girls put on a mini fashion show, wearing the blouses they had made. Their mothers were guests. All enjoyed the guest speaker Mr. John Noble respresen- ting the Federation of Agriculture - another hightlight of the evening was presenting W.1. The Evening Unit U.C.W. is hosting a pot luck sand- wich and square luncheon following the service. On May 28 the Greenbank after- noon unit of U.C.W. and the Women's Institute entertained the residents at Port Perry Villa for their May Birthday Party. A decorated cake was provided and gifts for the May birthdays. Holly "Beattie & Tonya Trainor sang duets, five of our Sr. Choir members gave two numbers and Mr. Ed Barnhardt . and Mrs. Mary Jean Till sang a duet. Mrs. Betty McGee was pianist for the program and the sing-song. Mr. and Mrs. Don McKean at- tended a surprise birthday party for his brother Lloyd McKean in Cann- - ington one day recently.' On Thursday, May 28 the Green- bank Brownies held their Mother and Daughter banquet in Green- bank Hall with approximately 50 in attendance. The guest speaker was Sylvia Oldenziel Deputy District Commisioner. Congratulations to all the girls who went on to Guides and also those who earned their Golden Bar and Ladder. On Friday evening May 29, pupils of Mrs. Betty McGee had their piano recital with Mrs. Debbie Beattie - assisting her Mother and acting as M.C.
