Proceeds from this bake sale will be funnel] into the construction of the H.F. _ Daw Nature Trail, to be dedicated in memory of the late Fred Daw and to Lois Daw in recognition of their outstanding contributions to com- munity servies. This trail will also be our link bet- ween the Community Centre and the Ashburn Community Park. The 1st Ashburn Beavers, Cubs and especially Scouts and Venturers are currently contributing te this community effort, by blazing the trail and removing trees and undergrowth. They are now in need of assistance from the community at large to fund and build bridges, and to establish drainage and the walkway. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Vicars from Fergus visited at the home of Doug and Florence Ashton over the our late president, Nellie Hopkins. Chrissie McKinney read the scrip- ture reading with Muriel Fisher leading in prayer. The meditation was titled 'Sowing Seeds." We were pleased to have Mrs. Helen Batten from Oshawa with us, who is a former member and resi- dent of Ashburn. Helen gave us a very lovely talk on ""The Freedom of Obedience."
