Crowd enjoyed fireworks Epsom and Area News by Jean Jeffery ~ It was a chilly evening but a large crowd enjoyed games and fireworks at the Epsom School. Thanks to Rob Evans and Grant Evans for organiz- ing a'baseball game. The Bethesda Reach W.1. will hold their May meeting on the 27th at 8 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Ivan Beare. Mr. John Noble will be guest speaker. It is Agriculture this month, but the topic will be 'Free Trade.' Any ladies welcome. Earl and Elizabeth Taylor went up to the lake where Wendy and John and baby were holidaying on Monday. On Tues. John and Wendy called on his parents on the way home to London. The May U.C.W. meeting was held at Betty Tapscott's home. A lovely time was enjoyed by the many members who attended. All enjoyed particularly the lovely duet by Donna Kerry and Ann Tapscott. Don't forget the Daycare Auction at Utica Church May 23 at 10 a.m. U.C.W. members are each asked to provide pie for the food booth. Miss Anna Evans has béen visiting her cousin Miss Tanya Wilson. Mr. John Tapscott received his Master of Divinity Degree from Emmanuel College, University of Toronto, on Thursday, May 14th. His parents Norm and Betty and his sister Ann attended this beautiful ceremony and enjoyed the reception - which was held afterward. On Sunday, Norm and Betty Tapscott and John were supper guests with Miss Margaret Smith of Chalk Lake.
