Phantom needs phone helpers for Challenge It's getting closer, the big Day -- May 27th -- when residents of Scugog Township compete with Ajax and Newcastle for the highest percentage of participation in physical activity from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. How can you help Scugog become the winner, not only in Durham Region, but all of Canada? One of the many ways YOU can play a vital part, is by calling Mary Cannon at 985-7137, or Elaine Buchanan at 985-3780 or 985-7321 and volunteering to answer the Fitness Hot Line for one of two hours on May 27th. Approximately 60 people are needed throughout the course of the day at Challenge Headquarters, to answer specially set up telephones and register people as they call in their names and physical activities. Without the help of volunteers to answer telephones and record this information, no one will know who or how many have participated in 15 minutes of physical activity in Scugog. It will be an exciting and fun-filled day -- so be a part of it at Challenge Headquarters. Call Mary or Elaine and volunteer your help. And who knows --- perhaps the Phantom will call YOU, while you're on the telephone!?! Immaculate kids in fitness challenge (From page 13) wildly extravagant ways to show physical activity. On Wednesday, May 20th, "Leap Frog Your Way To Fitness Day. . we will have a leap frog contest at school and are thinking of putting a team in the contest in town. This is our "Wear Green In Honour Of Frogs Day." On Wednesday, May 27th, we will all be participating in fifteen minutes of physical activity. We are still tossing around ideas but hope to finalize our plans soon. About for- ty of our students will be taking part in a cross country race at Foxbridge Golf Course that day. We have also invited parents to come to the school that day to take part in our activities A letter has been sent home to parents to let them know what is go ing on in the school. We aren't a big school but what we lack in size, we hope we'll make up for in en- thusiasm. We are hoping for a large turnout of parents to show that the Immaculate Conception School family have well and truly accepted the Challenge. RAR PEE NS RR i By inka
