On Thursday evening Wintario came to Blackstock lind spotlighted our small village The students at C.C.P S. enjoyed all the extra interest on Thursday while the crews were setting up all the equipment necessay |to televise a programme by reme¢te TV. Lion Blair Martyn M.C.'d'an excellent programme prior to tHe broadcast. Those who entertained the capacity audience were Jason Kyte on the electric keyboard, Blackstock Bashful Bows Square Dancers, Herb Vine and Dave Wooten, Nicki Bardeleben on the piano, a vocal number by Gail and _ Erica Hiemstra with Linda on the piano, Linda Sutton gave a flute solo accompanied by Laurel Grif- fen, Laurie Hart gave a display of his expertise on the accordian, Bob and Rebecca Helsdon sang after Some of the younger members of the popular Pine Ridge Cloggers dance group. The Blackstock Lions Club was instrumental in bring- Rebecca and Robert Helsdon entertained with a couple of songs, accompanied by accoustic which the Pineridge Cloggers im- pressed the audience and the television personalities alike. Faye Dance and Greg Beresford hosted the draw. Sponsors of the evening, the Blackstock and District Lions Club, will donate the proceeds of the sale of admission tickets to the Port Perry Hospital X-Ray Fund. A large number of curlers, their spouses and friends attended the annual Awards night held on Friday evening at Church C.E. Room. After welcome by President John Churchill and grace by Graham Dallas, the boun- tiful pot luck dinner was enjoyed. John Churchill presented the Treasurer's report after which the * new slate of officers for 1987 was elected as: Past-President John Churchill; President = Doug Kadowaki; Vice-President Dale Van Camp; Sec.-Tres. Gerald and Joyce Kelly; Executive members -from Men's League Ron Vice, Grant McLaughlin; from Ladies, guitar. the United . ing the Wintario to that community as part of the Centennial Celebrations. Yvonne Burnett, Mary DeMer chant, Ria Hoogeveen, Maelanie Wright; Mixed, Keith and Jean Goble, Jim and Alice Waldriff, Elizabeth Kelly. Yvonne Burneit, President of the Ladies League, in presenting the prizes to that group noted that there were (16 new curlers. She presented the trophy and first place prizes to Lornd Edgerton, Helen Nesbitt, Tracy Stapley and Brenda MacPherson. Second place went to Lorna Edgerton, Yvonne Burnett, Alice Waldriff and Sally Gibb while Elaine Bailey, Helen Coates, Ula Johnston and Sally Gibb took third place. Dale Van Camp, President of the Mixed, presented the trophy and first place prizes to Doug and Karen Kadowaki, Dave and Sylvie Gardner. Second prize went to Doug and Karen Kadowaki, Mel and Ellen Lamb, while third place was taken by Gerald and Joyce Kelly, Mike Russel and Chris Bed- dome.
