Please phone llean Pugh with your news next week at 985-2146 High School news by Leigh-Ann Goreski - Well Rebels, it's that time again for me to make a report. For all of you out there who thought you could breeze through the rest of the year after exams were over, Think Again!! I am con- vinced that all the teachers plan all their tests and assignments pur- posely on the same day. So that's what staff meetings are for! ! Some of us students have decided to take March Break a week early and our assignments are due this week without any sympathy from the teachers. Now, back to the real reasons why we attend school. In the past week our music department cleaned up at the Sunderland Festival. Senior Wind beat Uxbridge with a mark of 92. Gee, they all must be pretty 'high strung right now' And for all you sports fans out there, our gym has been packed with action over the past week. Our midget boys team lost in the quarter finals by 1 point against a determin- ed team from Bowmanville. Our junior boys were a little more for- tunate and defeated Courtice and Uxbridge to advance in the playoffs. We then were defeated by Ajax in the semi-finals. And now saving the best to last!! Our senior boys defeated Central and thus continued to the semi-finals against Brock. As usual, our seniors played a strong | defensive game and in the second quarter managed to muster infor- mation off in the suggestion box in front of the office. Rings will also be sold again in April in case you miss- ed them in the fall. So Rebels, try and be studious these last few strenuous weeks, so that you can enjoy the March Break!'!
