Early in the second, Rick Wilson made it 3-0_and at 4:56 with the Mo- Port Perry Star Sports Jacks enjoying a two-man advan- tage Chris Nicholson whistled a slap shot past Phil Callaghan in the Muskie cage to up the score 4. Congratulations on bringing home the bronze! © 'MoJacks dispatch Muskies in four straight With a commanding 10-1 lead, the MoJacks simply coasted through the final period, allowing two Muskie goals by Bill Quackenbush and Chuck Phillips. With just over five minutes to play, the MoJacks Brian Stevenson rounded out the scoring with a good, hard shot from 25 feet in front of the net. It was the first goal pf the season for Steven- son and he enjoyed the moment. MoJacks out-shot the Muskies 39-28. Brian Tarleton played two periods and Paul Goreski took over 'in the final frame. Rick Wilson led the MoJacks scoring parade with three goals and three assists. Based on the three previous games in this series, MoJack fans and players had been expecting fireworks, but referee John Cane kept things under control. The Muskies took 16 minors, one major and a game misconduct, while the MoJacks took 13 minors and one five minute major to Dave Sims for slashing. But it was the MoJack power play which again proved to be the dif- ference in this game. In the series, the MoJacks clicked 15 times on the power play. Head coach George Burnett said at the conclusion of the game he was relieved the series was over. He said he was surprised the Muskies opted to play it rough and chippy, and it hurt them as the MoJacks cleaned up on the power play. And he had some strong words of praise for his troops who 'showed a lot of class to stay away from un- necessary penalties. They were ask- ed to do this and they did," said Burnett. : When asked which team he would prefer to face in the next series (Ux- bridge or Little Britain) Burnett in- dicated his personal preference would be the Bruins. He was the assistance coach 'in Uxbridge last season. He noted that aside from one George Burnett -words of praise game, the MoJacks enjoyed pretty good successagainst the Bruins dur- ing the regular schedule, and predicted that if the Bruins and Mo- Jacks square off: goaltending would be the key. By wrapping up the series with Lindsay in four straight, the Mo- Jacks enjoyed a week's rest before starting the next series.
