The elegantly dressed men in tails and women in jewelled white cocktail * gowns let their féet carry the con- versation. This clever motif was altercated later in the evening in the waspish telephone duel between 'he and she' (Allan Craik and Cheri Gib- son). Naturally, there could be no winner here: heated feet left in a huff. The show was periodically enhanced by Orlowski's brief lessons on dance, reaching all the way back to A.D. 466 and St. ~ Patrick's early Irish step dancing with its happy, intricate foot movements and forward through African body movements. Put together, he arrived at such unusual ~ specialties as the buck dance, danc- ed by Stephen Greig in 'time steps' and the absolutely delightful crowd pleasing Mexican polka, Jesusita- Orlowski called this item a 'historical gem,' explained its origin | --'a 1949 George Formby Review -- | and then happily jogged and jolted!
