Petites travelled to St. Catherines _ for a tournament' and- after four hard played games of ringette brought home the silver. Port's first game against the host town of St. Catherines finished in a Novice L Games played last Wednesday night resulted in a couple of ties and a lop-sided victory by Port Perry Printing. Remax opened the 'scoring in the first period, Adam Hunter assisted by Jason Robinson. Swamp got the equalizer in the se- cond peripd, Ian McCready scoring from Ryan Edgar. Winning 1 and losing 1 meant that the girls had to win the next game to stay in the run- ning for a championship medal. The girls were equal to the task and came out flying in the third game. The girls did what they had to against Barrie! After the final buzzer had sounded Port had the victory over Barrie by a score of 9-6. By winning two out of 3 games this set up a rematch against Stratford the next day. The girls came out with spirits high and skating hard against Strat- ford but it was not to be! The girls . played short handed numerous times during the game which took its-toll in the end! Even with the loss by a score of 7-4, Port still took the silver and made a lot of people ask 'Where is Port Perry!" At the start of the second the onslaught took place as Murray Down notched three in a row with!' Dermot Doyle and Ibbittson assisting on the latter two. Ibbittson made it 7-0 on his second of the game with Mike Mitchell assisting. Lynde then set up Down with" his fourth goal of the game, before Lynde rounding out his hat trick on a set up by Ibbittson. The score was" 2-0 on the next shift as Wayne McGuigan got his first of two in row with Dave Dalton drawing the assist. The first period scoring was rounded out, as Brian Pomeroy fed Kopie DeJong to get Oddfellows in the game. McGuigan"s second mark came with help from Ron Redman. Oddfellows again.made it a one goal difference as DeJong and Pomeroy teamed up again. The final two goals for Blackstock had Redman and McGuigan trade places as Redman notched both of them. Both teams traded off one more goal each prior to the end of the first as Bart Wagar tallied for Goreski's and Emmerson's John Saunders counted from Gene Woodrow.
