Port got back on track with a good spirited effort by all the girls in a . victory over Pickering. Port came out skating hard and took control of ~ the game leading 6-2 by the 'end of the first period. The teams traded - goals in the second and after the final buzzer Port had won by the score 8-4. With only two league games left, the girls are gearing up for their regionals held in March. The defence of Kim, Jennifer, Michelle and Tracy along with good backchecking by the forwards kept the Pickering shots to a minimum. The shots that did get through saw, Amy equal to the task with a solid game between the pipes. Fast skating on the wings by Lyndsay, Tanya, Shannon and - Chrissy along with good checking by the centres Denna and Kelly kept Pickering off their game. The defence worked hard clearing the zone and with some good sharp passing the forwards kept the pressure on the Pickering goalie for a well deserved victory. The girls leave Port on a winning note and travel to St. Catherines for their first tournament of the season.
