14 -- PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday, January 27, 1987 Good neighbours will be missed deeply Scugog Island Area News by Mrs. Earl Reader We hear Noreen and Ted Leahy on the main Island Road have sold their property. 'Thro' the many - years of their residence they have been good neighbours and wil be missed. Many will miss their annual display of beautiful flowers. Noreen came to the *'Head" of the Island about 40 years ago with her parents from Haliburton and settl- ed on the present Middleton farm. With the exception of a few years after marriage, she has spent her life back on the Island - the rest of her family having moved away. Ted and his family have also been well known in the area. Now they hope to spend their retirement years in a more relaxed atmosphere and climate more in- "ducive to improved health. The Leahy's neighbours almost across the road, the Prices, with the apple orchard have also sold their home and plan to spend their retire- ment years in British Columbia. We are tardy in extending con- gratulations to one of our Island boys, Barry Prentice, as we remember him as a venturesome teenager and now we hear he is Dr. Prentice and living in Manitoba far 'GREYSTO EQUESTRIAN CENTRE ET ---- EERE NE R.R. 2, SHIRLEY ROAD -- PORT PERRY Welcome to Greystone & The King's Plate Lounge ens EVERY SUNDAY -- SUPER SPECIAL BUFFET >. 12:00 NOON to 8:00 P.M. Given the little progress made on these goals in the past months, it is obvious the list was in- flated or impractical given the lack of Ministerial attention Correctional Services has received. -The . Federal Government's Neilson Report on improved pro- gram delivery in the justice system indicates there is administrative overlap and duplication between services offered by the Ministry of Correctional Services and the Federal Solicitor General. But there has been no public response from Correctional Services to either answer the Neilson Report's charges or to cut duplication.
