The cost of building permits for commercial, industrial and institu- tional buildings will remain the same at one percent of construction value. Scugog issued well over 100 per- mits for new homes in 1986. Meanwhile, the council has also approved a 15 percent (annual) penalty charge on un-paid taxes. is un-changed from previous vars but it is still high enough to prompt property owners to pay their taxes due. Was I of help to someone who needed me? Was I a good friend? Could I have done more? If we can think of ways to improve ourselves, it is nice to do so before the New Year begins. That way we can plan the means to implement these improvements as we begin a new day and a new year. To all my readers, and staff of the Port Perry Star, I wish a joyous, healthy and happy New Year.
